There is no time to waste, building the workforce of the future
We asked our members what impact a quick Final Investment Decision for Sizewell C would have on their ability to invest in skills and apprenticeships.
These skills are desperately needed: an identified skills shortage is already hampering the delivery of current projects and a Final Investment Decision is set to give businesses the confidence to plan for the future, recruiting and training skilled workers.
Sizewell C is the best opportunity in a generation to bolster Britain's skills, accelerate towards net zero ambitions, and drive the reindustrialisation of the UK. Doing so will provide an estimated 1,500 apprenticeships in communities across the country.
Survey Findings
We surveyed the 300+ businesses that make up the Consortium’s membership on just how important Sizewell C is to their business and its ability to invest in upskilling the next generation of nuclear experts.

Through giving businesses the confidence to invest, Sizewell C will drive investment in thousands of apprenticeships and training opportunities across the country.
The project will act as a catalyst for economic growth by creating good jobs, upskilling Britain's workers and reviving our industrial heartlands. Without another site for workers to move to, thousands face having to transition out of the nuclear industry, taking their expertise with them.
